CONDITIONS OF ENTRY


  1. DEFINITIONS

    In these conditions of entry:

    1. the “Awards” mean the DESMOND TUTU FOOTPRINTS OF LEGENDS LEADERSHIP AWARDS, the details of which are contained in the Conditions and the document to which the Conditions are affixed;
    2. “Award Organisers” means The Desmond Tutu Educational Trust acting on behalf of the Academy for Educational Development and the W.K.Kellogg Foundation
    3. “Conditions” means the conditions of entry together with all annexures and addenda thereto including but not limited to the entry form;
    4. “Entrant” means any person considered eligible for the awards.
    5. “Competition Area” means Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Swaziland, South Africa and Zimbabwe
       
  2. WHO MAY ENTER
     
    1. Entry is free for all legal residents of one of the six countries stated in 1.5.
    2. Notwithstanding the provision of clause 2.1, no person employed by the Award Organisers or any third parties employed or contracted by the Award Organisers to assist in the running of the Awards or any aspect thereof, or any of the aforementioned persons’ direct and immediate family members (i.e. ascendants, descendants and spouses) may enter for the Awards in any capacity whatsoever and will further not be eligible to receive any award in any of the categories.
       
  3. AWARDS
     
    1. The award funds as awarded are non-transferable and attach to the winner of each specific category personally and for project use. The Organisers reserve the right to specifically direct the manner in which parts of the prize must be utilised.
    2. Entrants may be placed into a category other than the one applied for, at the discretion of the Award Organisers.
    3. The entry form together with the requisite material as aforesaid must reach the Award Organisers at the address specified by no later than 12:00 noon on the closing date (as may be advertised by the Award Organisers).
    4. No late entries will be accepted.
       
  4. PERMISSION

    In the event of the Entrant being selected as a finalist of this Awards, he / she gives the Organisers permission to reproduce any of his / her material for publicity.

  5. DTET’s RIGHTS
     
    1. DTET shall be entitled to utilise any information entered in the Award free of charge at any time in the future to promote the DTET and the annual Desmond Tutu Footprints of Legends Leadership Awards.
    2. The rights granted to DTET in clause 5 shall include the right to reproduce the Entrants’ material in any manner or form, including making still photographs, images to be seen in public and / or insofar as it consists of sounds, to be heard in public, and to broadcast the material in any manner (including the DTET and Tutu Awards website publication), and for the purposes set out in Clause 5.1.
       
  6. NO WAIVER

    No indulgence, leniency or extension of time, which the Award Organisers may grant or show to any Entrant, will in any way prejudice the Award Organisers or preclude the Award Organisers from exercising any of their rights in the future.

  7. CONTACT ADDRESSES
     
    1. The names, addresses and contact numbers supplied on the entry form by the Entrants must be correct. The onus is on the Entrants to ensure this, and the Award Organisers accept no liability for incorrect information supplied to them.
