PROGRAMMES
DTET supports projects that:
- Provide opportunities to historically disadvantaged students to develop
knowledge and skills that are market orientated.
- Contribute towards the restructuring of a non-racial education
system.
- Promote participation by black students in leadership programmes. Grow
the leadership capabilities of black students.
- Reflect a curriculum responsive to the socio-economic needs of South
Africa.
- Facilitate dialogue, co-operation and institutional sharing amongst
tertiary institutions.
- Assist students to improve their academic and social performance.
- Facilitate involvement in community work.
- Facilitate skills development of student leaders to effectively
participate in co-governance structures.
The DTET employs the Tertiary Education Linkages Programme (TELP) and the
Support to Tertiary Education Programmes (STEP) to execute and fulfil its
mission in education transformation. Through TELP, the Trust provides
academic development services and acts as a grant maker via STEP.
